if you still love me

About project

'Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree, if you still love me', is a collection of 50 yellow vintage oversized bows tied around the trees in St Andrews Park, to commemorate and symbolize the loss of loved ones.
The intention is to create a different visual impact of this public space for the duration of the month.
The initial impact will hopefully be both uplifting and intriguing because of the juxtaposition of the materials, colour and form of the bows contradicting the natural landscape and the sheer volume of repetitive yellow markers changing peoples perception of the landscape.
On a rainy day the bows will be like suns shining as beacons of hope.
The act of memorial can provide comfort in spite of loss.
I would like to thank 'Neo Belle Bazaar' (Bronia 07760392518) and 'REPSYCHO' (Andy)Gloucester rd, for donating yellow vintage fabric.
